Time is flying faster than the speed of light

Well so far I have been quite busy with my life. I've had to hold onto a stand still of completing my work. I am reading the material in this course but it seems like there is so much of it to complete before I can go ahead. 

I am learning a lot of the fundamentals and some tools in online learning, which is good. As it seems a bit of a comfort level change which makes that the most difficult challenge. Once my own glass ceiling is broken on cyber teaching delivery I think I'll be able to get on this "glass elevator" to rise above my own judgments. I feel like technology is amazing one day we will all be like 'Ironman1' navigating an interface tech system!

Intro to blogging

Hi All;


I have never blogged before! This feels like a open style diary of my thoughts to the e-world! Well here goes! 


My name is Ellen and I am a Certified Dental Assistant and work at VCC. My interests are learning how to weave and cooking. 


The reason I started a blog was because of the course I am taking with Vancouver Community College-4150 Principles and Processes of eLearning. 


I have always been inspired by the teachers, instructors and mentors who have been dynamic. I am hoping to learn some online techniques and understand the process of learning online. I have finished the textbook: Conrad, R & Donaldson, J.A (2011). Engaging the online learner: Activities and resources for creative instruction. San Francisco, CA: Jossey Bass

This book has thoughtful insights. It starts with engaging learners down to the commitment of the students and the role the instructor has to play in creating an online community!
